We import Hydramotion viscometers from the UK, so we watch the exchange rates pretty carefully. Since my post in July, the exchange rate for the US Dollar against the British Pound has actually gotten even better (for us in the US, that is!). More accurately, the rate was fairly steady, with minor fluctuations, until just the last few weeks, when it has been trending strongly downward. From what I understand, that’s due to a combination of more Brexit issues and some “Trump effect” – as it looks less likely that Donald Trump will be elected President, the US Dollar is getting stronger.
Those two factors may mean that the rate will keep improving, or at least will stay about where it is now, maybe until the US election in early Nov.; there’s no way to be sure. But regardless of the reasons, the fact is that right now the rate is about 10% better than it was even in July – so this is a great time to buy a Hydramotion viscometer!
We can only drop prices based on the exchange rate when a sale is made or paid for, so I can’t give you firm numbers. But as a guide, we can probably get you a portable Viscolite for under $4,000; a lab Viscolite for under $6,000; an XL7 inline process viscometer for just over $10,000; a ViscoJet inline process viscometer for about $7,800; and a ReactaVisc lab viscometer for just over $11,000. I’m quite sure those are the lowest prices these viscometers have ever seen in the US! And of course, prices are also lower for custom XL7s, optional features such as integral temperature sensors, and the PVT viscometers like the HyperVisc and the PVT variation of the XL7.
We’ve been working with our customers the last few months to take advantage of all this and pass the savings along, and we’ll continue to do that. As I said before, just Contact us to figure out the best approach for your specific situation.
Think of it as taking advantage of a crazy world…isn’t it about time your business got some benefit from it?!
